just a quick note.
i started my new real grown up job yesterday at a bank.
i just wanted a break from ebay, i wanted set work hours and a set amount in a paycheck each week.
Just a quick note. I started my new real grown up job yesterday at a bank. I just wanted a break from Ebay, I wanted set work hours and a set amount in a paycheck each week. We had a ton of team building exercises, all the first day stuff, etc. At our lunch break I noticed one of my team mates was crying in the bathroom. I went over to see if I could help. She told me I wouldn't understand but thank you. I being annoyingly persistent, said...you'd be surprised what I've been through. It looks like you are really upset, can I please try to help you? Then she tells me.. My husband and I have 6 children. 4 are biologically mine and 2 are my step children. My husband was married before, and his ex-wife is a Jehovahs Witness. Everytime the 2 kids come back from being with her, they tell my kids they are going to die because they are not Jehovahs Witnesses. Then we put the Christmas tree up and the older 12 year old said we were pagan and not worshipping Jehovah. She went on to say that this behavior has gotten worse and worse since she and her husband were married and she feels as though she can't take the stress. I explained to her my situation with my husband and his family and that I do understand what she is going through. She looked so relieved, and I told her I would try to help her anyway I could. I will be in training with her for the next 10 weeks everyday. Last night, she and I and her husband talked for 30 minutes in the parking lot. He is so nice and he adores her. He was not ever a JW, just married to one. They are both Catholic, and not really into the bible. Just going through the motions...so to speak. I am hoping I can help these people with information or just support because they both seem so nice Best Regards, Chrystal

perhaps some of you have seen this on the news.
my son's school has gotten national attention because the ban on tag.
i went to the pto meeting and spoke with the principal.
I haven't scanned it into the computer yet, but my letter was printed in our paper.
Here it is, if anybody wants to read:
To The Editor: Last week I read with interest all the attention Willett School received because of the "No Tag rule," and the responses to the articles in the Sun Chronicle bashing Pia Durkin, School Superintendent for saying that this whole tag media circus was a "non-issue", accusing her of being elitist and not understanding the common man. I read nasty comments about our new principal for single handedly turning every child in America into Obese whiners who don't understand the rules of life because tag was taken away during recess. Now, I have never met Ms. Durkin, but I have met Mrs. Heppe on several occasions, my son is in first grade at Willett School; and to me Tag is not a big issue. The second week of school all the parents at Willett got notices in the mail that our school had not met the State of Massachusetts learning requirements and that our children could transfer to another school that is meeting the Standards. This is an issue! Willett school started a literacy program where parents come in to their children's classroom and read books to encourage kids to have a love for books and reading, so far none of the parents have been able to do this. Why - because they have not been able to be Criminally checked (CORI) to come into the school and volunteer. There is no date yet, when these CORI checks will happen. This is an issue! The monthly Parent Teachers Organization meeting was last week. Out of a school of 400+ children, 20 people were at the meeting. This number included Teachers and the Principal. Where are all the people who care about their children not being able to play tag? Everyone was so outraged, they stayed home? I think people have forgotten how this whole mess started. A simple article was published about Willett School trying to earn funds to build a new playground. The playground is old and children get a lot of splinters when they are trying to play at recess. Some days the kids have not been able to play on the equipment at all because of wasps and bee's making homes in the old wood structure. We just wanted a new safe play structure. We did not ask for this media attention. We did not ask for the children walking home to be accosted by news media in unmarked vans. We did not ask to be an international joke. We asked for the communities help in raising funds for a fun place to play. Willett School has the most children from low income families of any school in Attleboro. Some of the children come home to apartments, or multi-family homes and the Willett playground is the only one they will get to play on. I live in one of the poorest sections of Attleboro, and the only play area is the street in front of my house. So again, Tag is not an issue. No one has been hurt from not playing Tag. Children have been hurt from old playground equipment. Children have been hurt from not being able to read and do math. Children have been hurt by apathy. Everyone who is so upset about the No Tag issue, do something to actually help Willett School! Volunteer, Go to a PTO meeting, send in Box Tops for Education , do something besides complain to help our kids.

msmcducket's mother died this morning.
she posted the announcement deep in a thread she had started several months ago when her mother first became seriously ill, and as a result the post sort of got lost.
msmcducket, i hope you don't mind my taking the initiative to start a new thread about your mom.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Big hugs coming your way,
Chrystal
alright class.
break out your pencils.
time for a test .
We have 2 dogs. A German Shepherd and a Pittbull/Besenji mix. They are both shelter rescue dogs. Both are considered scary breeds to some people.
My dogs have never bit my children or me, I have taught respect from day one. Respect for the animals and respect for the children.
I know pittbulls have a bad reputation, and I was leary about bringing one into my house, but I spoke with my mom who works for a major insurance company and they do get dog bites from Pitt bulls, but also from Rottweilers, Pomeranians, Cocker Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, etc.
My dogs are very well behaved and I am a super responsible pet owner. I walk my dogs for 45 minutes each day, I play with them. I discipline them. And no, I don't hit them. That is not what I mean by discipline.
I am an avid student of Cesar Milan the Dog Whisperer. I think most problems are created by the humans, not by the dogs.
I am very distrustful of little dogs now. I was bit very badly by a pomeranian on my ankle and I will have a nasty scar forever. When we were in California a few monthes ago, my son approached a man at the park with a Boston Terrier. My son asked first, and was given persmission to touch the dog. He held out his hand to let the dog sniff and when he did the dog attacked him. He had a very nasty bite on his hand. The man said his dog had never bit anyone before. Who knows if that is true. But I will take a big dog anyday over a psycho little dog.
Sorry for the ramble,
Chrystal
,,,,while they were witnesses?
I know of at least 5 people.

my mother found some old jw records a couple of months ago, they apparently were what the dubs used to use when they were witnessing, theyd go out with a record player and play these records to people to preach to them.. just wondering if anyone else has any of these?
im guessing theres probly not that many of them around, i think i have about 6 or so of them and they are quite old, (im at work at the moment so i cant really tell you any more about them) i was thinking that i mite sell them on ebay, maybe ill get a bit of cash for them.. .
sam87..
I just sold a whole bunch of Kindom Melodies records on ebay and I saw that the JW sermon records are selling for quite a bit of money. Maybe you should sell them and take yourself out to dinner!
Best Regards,
Chrystal
for most all of us here we have had association with the jehovah's witnesses in some way or another.
there are many man-made "rules" within the organization.
that fact we all agree on.
I was not ever a JW, but I think my level of personal integrity went up as soon as I realized that I have little video camera's on me all the time. Having my children changed my life the most, realizing my behavior effects them. Not that I was bad before, but I certainly watch what I say and do even more...no F words when driving, etc.
My husband was raised as a JW and doesn't go any longer and he doesn't believe everything he once did...but he is still just as moral. Not in a pious sort of way. In a very respectful way, I am in awe of him a lot of the time for his true christian behavior....even when he irritates the crap out of me.
Best Regards,
Chrystal
